Understand Your Organization's Handbook

See how your organization’s Handbook gives Octavus Agents and people a shared, evolving reference for how your organization operates.

Your organization’s Handbook is a shared reference for how your company operates. Octavus Agents use it as part of their memory and context management, so they can document, reference, and understand how your organization operates.

A walkthrough of the Handbook and the organization knowledge it can hold.

What the Handbook contains

A Handbook is made up of pages grouped into categories. Each page can explain a process, system, decision, or other part of how your organization operates.

Pages can combine written guidance with diagrams, tables, math, and other material that makes a process clear.

Explore a Handbook page

Open your organization’s Handbook, choose a category, and select a page to review its content. In the walkthrough, the Forecast Methodology page in the RevOps category shows how an Agent can document a company’s forecast methodology.

The useful part is not the example itself. It is the pattern: use a page to capture the details an Agent and the people in your organization need to reference later.

Keep your operating knowledge current

Over time, a Handbook can become the source code for how your organization operates. Agents and people can use it to reference established processes and clearly document changes as those processes evolve.

Give the Handbook the information that should remain useful across work: how a process works, why a decision exists, and the terms your organization uses. Keep one-off task updates in the work itself instead of treating them as permanent operating guidance.

Next steps

Start with the process or system your Agent needs to understand most often. Create or update a Handbook page with the shared context that will help both your team and your Agent work from the same understanding.
