Give your agent a Mac of its own
Every agent already comes with its own computer. For the most sensitive work, the desktop app lets an agent run on a Mac you own - real hardware on your own network - so it can sign into tools with the strictest security, just like any employee would.
Not sure which to pick? If your Mac was made after 2020, it's likely Apple Silicon.
No blocked logins
Services trust real computers. Your agent can sign into company email, Slack, CRM, and every other tool - just like a real employee on their work laptop.
SSO and 2FA compatible
Company SSO, two-factor authentication, and strict security policies work seamlessly on a real Mac you own.
Full filesystem access
Agents can work with local files, download and process documents, manage repositories, and interact with any desktop application.
Shell and browser
Full terminal access for running commands, scripts, and dev tools. A real Chrome browser for navigating any web application without restrictions.
Why a dedicated Mac?
Agents work great on the computers Octavus provides. A Mac is for the highest-trust work: it's your own hardware on your own network, so tools that distrust unfamiliar or automated machines treat it like any employee's laptop. Keep it on a spare Mac you leave always on, separate from the one you use every day.
Getting started
- Open the downloaded DMG and drag Octavus Agents to your Applications folder.
- Launch the app - a pairing code will appear on screen.
- Sign in to Octavus, go to Devices, and enter the pairing code to connect your machine.
- Assign agents to your device from the agent settings page.
Want to test first? You can install the app on your own Mac to try it out. When you're ready for your agent to work independently, set up a dedicated machine.
